Advanced Meter Infrastructure (AMI) Installations Underway
AMI meter installations continue as the cooperative moves toward full deployment of the Tantalus Utility Network (TUNet) over the next four years. Meter installations are being handled by Whitewater Valley REMC employees and STS, an authorized contractor. All STS vehicles are clearly marked “Contracted by WWV REMC.”
The process of installing a new AMI meter takes about ten minutes with only a momentary power interruption. Here is what you can expect:
- Each week, members scheduled to receive a new meter will receive a call from the Cooperative.
- Your power will be out for a few minutes during the installation of the new meter. If you are not present, a note will be left on your front door after the work is complete.
- Afterward, you will need to reset digital clocks and other electronic devices.
- If installation is not possible due to a locked gate or other obstruction to the meter, the Cooperative will contact the member to make arrangements to install the meter.
