Whitewater Valley REMC
Officials from three electric cooperatives and the city of New Castle plan to “flip the switch” on a solar farm at a dedication event on Sept. 16, turning sunshine into electricity for homes and businesses throughout east central Indiana.
The 1 MW facility is part of a 10 MW utility-scale solar initiative by Hoosier Energy, power supplier for 18 electric distribution cooperatives including Henry County REMC, RushShelby Energy and Whitewater Valley REMC to support bringing renewable energy options to electric cooperative communities.
Shoulder rates (also called off-Season rates) schedules are effective with all bills rendered between September and November. For residential bills rendered between June and August 2015, the published rate per kilowatt hours was $0.10887. On September 1, that drops to $.08556. Year round, all rates are subject to the Wholesale Power Adjustment which can be a charge, a credit or zero.
